Cala d’Or is the name given to a stretch of development along the east coast that includes a number of coves and resorts (Cala Ferrera, Cala Esmeralda, Cala Serena, Cala Gran & Cala Llonga). Each of the various calas (bays) has its own distinctive character where former fishing harbours have been turned into marinas.
Cala d´Or has been sympathetically developed, with plenty of white-washed Ibiza style buildings and is one of the nicest town along the east coast of Mallorca.
People come here to sail, dive, drink champagne at the waterfront bars. The coves have charming little beaches that are surrounded by pine trees and cliffs. The beaches themselves are small with fine white sand. The water is wonderfully clear and inviting, and ideal for swimming, snorkeling and diving on a warm summer´s day.
